Camming Down the Rabbit Hole Ch. 07

With a grimace I placed the mask back on, and set about finding something to suit my needs. It didn’t take long before the staff approached me to ask if I needed help. With the confidence of the makeup trip under my belt I had no issues explaining what I was after and I was shown to the area with a whole host of heels, from barely flat to 6” high platforms. Measured up for size and with the help of the assistant we started pulling shoes from the shelves. I must have tried on fifteen or more pairs, and settled on 4. The first was only a small 2” heel, somewhat practical boots but looked perfect with the jeans I had on, and were a breeze to walk in, I already knew I could wear these all day and not have a problem. The second pair were some new running trainers, I hadn’t intended to buy any, but they were much more in keeping with my appearance than the old pair I had been using and a discounted price made them too good to pass up.

The third and fourth pairs were considerably less practical, a white pair of closed toe stilettos which were almost impossible to walk in but I knew would be an instant hit with my viewers and I had two or three outfits that they would look amazing with. The final pair were borderline ridiculous, metallic glittery gold, incredibly strappy, open toe, high heeled with a bit of a platform. I had no intention of walking anywhere in them but these would look outrageous on cam, the way the light bounced off them I couldn’t resist.

With the new boots on my feet I completed my purchases and left the shop feeling suddenly very hungry, still a little conscious of my steps I made an effort each time to find my stride and it gradually became more natural. Towards the end of the high street there was a smart looking café and by the time I got there I was thinking less about my foot steps and more about what I wanted to eat, these boots really were comfortable and it had taken hardly any time for me to walk in them with ease. The glimpses I managed to get of my reflection in the shop fronts confirmed what I felt and these boots really did complete the look.
